Sea Nymph
I constructed this wearable dress from used bubble wrap with painted Styrofoam embellishments at the bodice, with an embellished re-purposed satin ribbon tie at the waist.

The necklace (with miniature fish inside the bubbles) is a whimsical nod to the artist's initial fishbowl inspiration (which was quickly abandoned after creating the stunning silhouette. Once the material was draped, the bubbles no longer evoked fishbowls, but a connection with the whole ocean). In the necklace, the bubbles are connected by painted Styrofoam “coral”. The clasp makes use of broken jewelry and crystals.

Throughout the torso and around the seat, the bubble wrap has been popped to flatter the figure of the wearer. It is fastened with clear Velcro.

The dress is comfortable to wear and rustles like ocean waves when the wearer walks. It is truly beautiful.
