Color Shifts to Pale
Coral Reefs are dying due to rising ocean temperatures. This piece depicts the vibrant colors of a coral reef by using various hand made papers, tissue and acrylics. For added texture I applied shedded snake skin from my ball python. My abstract concept was to show colors of coral fading into a pale wasteland, allowing the snakeskin texture and color to deepen the feeling of dying things. The shoal of fish creates movement across the upper edge. The ball python was not harmed in the creation of this art, the snake sheds his skin as he grows, leaving behind an amazing natural element to play with.
