Andrea Woolley

Andi Woolley moved to California from Wyoming three years ago, looking for a new adventure. With a passion for exploring the emotional depth of color and texture, she has developed a unique visual language that invites viewers to experience the world in a new way.
As an artist, Andi believes that art has the power to connect us, to transcend boundaries, and to touch our deepest humanity. She has dedicated much of her life to creating works that inspire, uplift, and engage others.
As an educator, Andi is passionate about sharing the transformative power of art with others. She works with a diverse community of learners, teaching them about the language of art and its ability to impact their lives. She believes that art is a universal language, one that can bridge gaps, foster empathy, and inspire creativity.
Through her art and teaching, she aims to create a sense of community, connection, and shared experience. She hopes that her paintings will transport viewers to a world of vibrant color and rich texture, inspiring them to see the world in a new light, and to experience the sense of wonder that she feels every time she creates.

Statement

Growing up in Wyoming, I didn't have the opportunity to really get to know and understand the patterns of the ocean. After moving to  California, my life has been forever altered by the time I spend in communion with her.
Every day, I am humbled by the ocean's grandeur and reminded of our profound connection to it. I am deeply aware of the critical role we play in its stewardship - and the devastating impact of our neglect.
Through my paintings, I strive to capture the feelings that are evoked in me when I look out and experience the connection between the land, the water, and the sky.
The ever-changing tapestry of the ocean itself inspires me. Every time I look out at the waves, I am struck by the way the colors and textures shift and dance and how the surface is impacted by the sky.
Our relationship with the ocean greatly impacts the diversity of life that depends on her. It is up to us to protect what we can. Long after we are gone, the waves will continue to ebb and flow, shaping and reshaping the shoreline. This humbling realization puts our own existence and creations into perspective.
