At the age of five Valerie won a bicycle from a restaurant coloring contest. At age eight, she made and sold a series of color pencil greeting cards and pop-art collage bookmarks at fairs. In High School she won a sketching contest, and her team also won second place in a CA State computer animation competition. She studied graphic art and computer animation in college but fell in love with studio arts and jewelry making instead and sold her paintings and jewelry on campus. She worked at an art gallery shortly after on Abbott Kinney Blvd. in Venice Beach with Trek Kelly. Later in life, she built her artist website to show and sell her art and is currently displaying it in galleries and art fairs around Southern California.
StatementValerie Veneziano is an ultra-contemporary artist from Southern California who enjoys painting with acrylic, oil, and watercolor. She handcrafts ornaments using seashells and fairy gardens and jewelry using glass, wood, and stone beads. She creates fantasy, nature, figurative, and expressionism forms of art and loves to express the intricacies and magic of creation within the microscopic, astronomical, plant, and animal kingdoms.
