Anna Pearson is a rising artist, based in San Diego. She’s an immigrant from Ukraine who reinvented herself as a full time artist and a muralist after coming to the U.S. six years ago. Her public art murals can be seen in Carlsbad, Oceanside, Del Mar, Seaport Village, La Mesa, Escondido, San Marcos and also in many private residences. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the San Diego area and beyond, one of her paintings is displayed in Hotel del Coronado. Pearson works with different media, but a special place in her heart belongs to acrylic painting. Clean lines and nature inspired shapes of her art take roots in her childhood, filled with flowers, tall trees and endless fields of wheat under bottomless Ukrainian sky.
My most recent work is a collection of acrylic and multimedia paintings experimenting with texture and a minimalistic palette. Painted in sweeping motions with a certain freedom of interpretation of everyday subjects and experiences, my art explores the beauty of life, rooted in hope. Working on new projects, I try to capture the beauty of ordinary things surrounding us, preserving important memories, which sometimes dissolve in the information noise of today. Like the delight of freshly picked flowers from the garden or the dance of sunbeams on a warm day, that child-like joy and feeling of wonder we tend to overlook in our daily routine. I leave in my painting space room for the imagination not trying to say it all, but rather allowing the viewers to have their unique interpretation.
