Michelle Kaskovich is a mixed media artist who draws her inspiration from the California Coastline. Her textile pieces are created using fibers found in second hand shops as well as hand spun yarns sourced from Oaxaca, Mexico. She lives in Carlsbad CA.
StatementI have lived and worked in California for over 20 years and draw my inspiration from the textures, colors and shapes of the California Coastline. I am mindful of the importance of conserving our natural resources and to that end, I source almost all of my weaving materials from local thrift stores, giving new life to fibers and fabrics that might end up in landfills.
